Why Work at Home When You Can Have a

Workation in Aruba?

Remote work became quite popular when COVID-19 forced companies around the world to send their employees home. Companies found a way to continue operating while still prioritizing their workers’ health and wellbeing. Now, two years later, this dynamic has proven to be a successful future business model.

Working from home broadens the range of business opportunities and increases the freedom to pursue your career wherever you want, even while basking on a heavenly Caribbean beach. This is precisely what a workation is all about.

If you are a freelance worker, entrepreneur, or even an investor looking for new opportunities, Aruba is the destination for you. It has the best internet in the Caribbean. Let us tell you a bit more about why you should consider making One Happy Island your workation destination.

The Workation

Lifestyle

By now, we all know that Aruba is one of the most preferred tourist destinations in the world, mostly because families enjoy the getaway experience. Now, imagine that you never have to leave the island and can work while enjoying the leisure of a permanent vacation.

When doing business in Aruba, you may want to own a safe space where you can work without worrying about the need to secure accommodations during your visit. In addition, this property can also be an asset to rely on for your future endeavors.

Aruba’s effort to embrace the getaway island concept encourages visitors to experience the seductive qualities of the Caribbean while still allowing them to keep their business in order. With the promise of a paradise for a dream workation and the perfect balance between business and pleasure, Aruba is the place where all your wishes can come true!

Investment Opportunities

for Foreigners in Aruba

During the first six months of 2022, Aruba recovered 92% of its tourism industry compared to 2019 (confirming the charm that distinguishes the island from other locations in the Caribbean). Given that this sector is the most important driver of the Aruban economy, it is safe to say that now is the best time to invest in Aruba, in whatever sector you are most comfortable with.

To create a smart and sustainable economy, Aruba’s government implemented special incentives for value-added companies, hoping to establish their business on the island. This resulted in one of the region’s highest GDP per capita. Investors are now welcomed by a safe business climate with a dedicated, eloquent, and multilingual workforce prepared to enhance corporate operations.

If you want to start or expand your business in Aruba, find out more about the Chamber of Commerce; however, if you want to continue working remotely from Aruba, check out the island’s official website.

Get Your Business License

Aruba is a highly developed country. The tax and company laws are similar and often based on or derived from Dutch laws. This makes the island a paradise for investors, allowing them to choose from multiple industries with good ROI and different legal entities they can apply to. These are just a few of the options:

● Sole Proprietorship (EZ)

● General Partnership (VOF)

● Corporation (NV)

● Limited Liability Company (VBA)

● Aruba Exempt Corporation (AVV)

A business license is required for foreigners and anyone other than people born in Aruba with Dutch nationality or nationalized Dutch citizens who are 18 years or older to establish a business in Aruba via any of the aforementioned structures.

Take Advantage of the

Free Zone

Aruba has a designated area called the “free zone” that is only used for international business. Companies can use this endeavor to store, process, modify, assemble, pack, display, and disseminate their products or to provide services. These services include:

● Maintaining or repairing goods in Aruba for non-residents.

● Providing advice and conducting research on behalf of non-residents.

● Engaging in international trade and trade-supporting services.

● Offering electronic services using ICT.

● Providing consultancy, courses, training, and certifications.

Aruba’s Free Zone provides numerous opportunities for you, especially if you want to increase your exports or expand your business. These are some of the companies allowed in the Free zone: credit institutions, insurance or trust companies, vendors, and businesses in public law, such as agriculture, livestock, and fishery businesses.

Although optional, we strongly suggest taking out travel insurance with COVID-19 coverage to ensure a safe trip.

Please be aware that the country’s digital customs and immigration process, the Aruba Embarkation/Disembarkation Card, will still need to be completed by all visitors before arrival
